Becak (Cycle rickshaws)

What is Becak?

·       Becak is one of the three-wheel mode of transportation that generally were found in Indonesia.

·       In the cities, everyone cycles (sepeda), drives a motor bike (sepeda motor) or hires a becak.

·       A becak is like a bicycle with a seat large enough for two people, set on two wheels at the front.

·       The becak driver pedals at the back and pushes you around the city.

·         Cycle rickshaws are widely used in major cities around the world, but most commonly in cities of South, Southeast and East Asia.

·         The becak driver is called tukang becak.

·         Becak  fit two passengers comfortably and possibly even more, depending on the size of the passenger.

 

Bargain before you get in ... !

 

Aktivitas :

1. Introduce Indonesian traditional transport - Becak 

2. Give out the Becak template - 3D object (a set consists of 3 pieces : becak hood, becak bike at back and becak seat)

3. Students colour in the becak template (encourage them to use bright colours).

4. Cut out and fold down dotted lines

5. Paste parts together

6. Design one tukang becak and two passengers. Place them appropriately

7. Test the becak if it can stand on its own!
